Learning from the Internet Society

Yesterday, two of our Teenangels met the inventor of the Internet, Vint Cerf, and the designer of the world wide web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee. Until yesterday's INET conference in NY, they didn't understand the difference. Now they also understand IPv6 and IPv4 and net neutrality. Their biggest reaction was that most people don't understand what these things mean or why they are important. They will be doing a translation of the issues for other teens. After all, they tell everyone - the Internet is meant for teens!

Oklahoma kills cyberbullying bill

Oklahoma House kills cyberbullying bill | NewsOK.comThis is a surprise. The issue shouldn't be whether or not schools need to teach cyberbullying prevention and have school cyberbullying policies. The issue should have been the consequences for failing to provide them. Cyberbullying is a school violence issue. Schools are already required to address school violence.

Thei training can take up to two years, but what they learn and the help they provide to themselves and others lasts a lifetime. To learn more, visit Teenangels.org. (Teenangels was founded by Parry Aftab and is a youth leadership program of WiredSafety.org)
